Some words from Gustavo about the photo:
“I was walking through one of the quiet areas of Brasilia, where not much usually happens, when I spotted that thin slice of light entering this restaurant. As I approached it I saw the girl sleeping, and her colleagues going on their business. I made 5 or 6 clicks, waiting until I had something else besides her. That apparent discussion between the couple made the difference for me when choosing it.”

Some words from Dimitris about the photo:
“Prague is currently the city where I travel to shoot. Between 2018 and 2019 I took 3 trips to make a project about cemeteries in Prague. Days at the cemeteries were quiet and very focused and many late afternoons around sunset time I made sure to finish my day at this beautiful spot next to and looking directly at the famous touristic spot of Prague, Charles Bridge. A smoke and a time to relax, looking at the most lively bridge in the city (and probably one of the most lively pedestrian bridges on the earth) and looking at life after long days in the cemeteries. Swans for me are a symbol of beauty and life. I made my first swan photo on a lake next to the hospital where my son was born premature and stayed 2.5 months in hospital fighting for his life. Life and beauty, and the beauty of life came together that moment. Since then I fell in love with swans. And I always try to shoot them when I find some nice opportunity. This spot in Prague is full of swans. That night I brought together a bride and a swan, the swan stealing the beauty of the bride in my eyes. Marriage, life. Beauty. Beauty of life again. A nice contrast to my ongoing project during those days.“

Some words from Justin about the photo:
East Village, NYC summer of 2019. I have a bit of a weakness for pukers, to be honest. When I see somebody throwing up I always feel compelled to photograph it. There is something so vulnerable about them, and the line between documentation and exploitation is a fine one. I realize this but I just can’t resist the draw. The thing I seek out in all my photos is the same really. A private moment in a public place. For me there are few things more private than puking, and few places more public than First Avenue and 12 street in broad daylight.

Some words from Don about the photo:
"Photographed at the visitors center at Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. Perhaps it was because I was close to Area 51, and had aliens on the mind in this other worldly landscape, that this view had to trigger a photographic response"

Some words from Don about the photo:
"On a trip out to Oregon this fall I did a hike up Larch mountain on a foggy, misty, cloudy day. Arriving at the overlook, from which you are able to view 5 area volcanic mountains, I couldn't see any due to the clouds and mist. But when the clouds parted and the sun came out above and behind me, I looked down into the mist in the valley below me and I saw this, a Brocken Spectre...look it up."

This was taken last May in Hamburg, Germany. I was there for my first solo show in Europe. The city is well known for its constant bad weather, and this day was no different. I was walking along the port when I noticed the ship reflected in the glass of a cafe, and when I got closer I noticed this old guy inside, looking like an old sailor who misses the sea.

This was taken in the metro in Lisbon, in my last day in the city in May, late in the evening after some beers with some friends who live there. I love the colors here, but the scene and the feeling it suggests were the most appealing to me. We've all been there before, and I think photography sometimes can work as a kind of time machine too.

Some words from Don about the photo:
On the second weekend in July the little town of Le Roy, which is near our little family cottage in Northern Michigan, holds a homecoming-type festival called Razzasque Days. There are a Grand Parade, chicken bbq, adult beverage tent, games, live music, kid's parade, and other festivities. For the past several years I have made a point to photograph the festival. This particular photo was made during the kids parade. Every year there is a different theme and this time it was Superheroes.

Some words from Jack about the photo:
We had a multi generational dinner at the house. Our friends were out about ready to leave and some started playing around with their shadows on our garage. There was a tremendous variety of sizes and interactions between shadows . I took a few photos with this being my favorite.

Some words from Barry about the photo:
I finished a group meditation practice just before I went to shoot the Tel aviv parade. I was a bit concerned I would be a bit too sensitive for this kind of event after a long meditation session, but it actually helped me. I was much calmer and focused , and it helped me to be able to notice and isolate this moment in all the craziness around.
